Green light for the AES Geo Energy Project
In December 2008 InterConnection had the pleasure to organize the signing of the financial agreements for a major project in the renewable sector in Bulgaria. The AES Geo Energy project will construct and operate a 156 MW wind farm near the town of Kavarna. The signing ceremony, perfectly organized by our professional team, was attended by the Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev, Paul Hanrahan, President and Chief Executive Officer of AES and the US Ambassador - Nancy McEldowney. In addition, the Minister of Environment and Water – Dzhevdet Chakarov, the Minister of Economy and Energy – Peter Dimitrov, the Minister of Health – Evgeni Zhelev and other government officials also attended. Later at the evening there was a cocktail reception, perfectly arranged by InterConnection`s team, at the Archeological Museum with more than 200 people. New Symphony Orchestra and Bulgarian Cosmic Voices entertained the guests during the reception. AES Geo Energy, a subsidiary company of one of the world’s largest power companies, will definitely increase Bulgaria’s wind generation capacity. St. Nikolas at Kavarna project will be the largest wind farm in Bulgaria of a great economic importance.
